Capturing the Genius of Frank Lloyd Wright: A Journey with Photographer Jerron Davis

When one thinks of Frank Lloyd Wright, images of groundbreaking architectural marvels come to mind—structures that seamlessly blend with their surroundings and exude a timeless elegance. For Jerron Davis, a 36-year-old insurance adjuster turned passionate photographer, these iconic designs have become a source of inspiration and artistic exploration.

Born and raised in Missouri and now residing in Northwest Arkansas, Jerron’s photography journey began modestly with an iPhone. About 4-5 years ago, during a series of road trips, he started capturing the world through his lens, which led to an unexpected opportunity. The owners of an Airbnb in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Hacienda de Las Cruces, noticed his stunning photos of their desert oasis and invited him to manage their Instagram account. Jerron’s photography skills flourished as he documented the hacienda’s suites and surroundings, making biannual trips to refresh their visual content.

From Landscapes to Architectural Wonders

Although Jerron initially focused on landscapes and structures, his work with the hacienda ignited a deeper passion for photography. He upgraded to his first DSLR Canon camera and expanded his repertoire to include portraits, weddings, engagements, families, real estate, architecture, car shows, celebrations, and even pets.

An Artistic Journey with Frank Lloyd Wright

Jerron’s admiration for Frank Lloyd Wright’s work began with a gift from his mother—a book titled "By His Design." Each page introduced him to Wright’s visionary creations, sparking a fascination that would shape his artistic journey. As an adult, Jerron’s home reflects his appreciation for Wright’s mission-style aesthetics.

Determined to see Wright’s masterpieces firsthand, Jerron embarked on visits to various Wright-designed structures across the country. One notable experience was staying in the Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he captured family photos in one of its two-story suites. His explorations have always been a family affair, often taking his parents along to share in the experience.

The Stockman House and Historic Park Inn Hotel

Among Wright’s many works, two locations hold a special place in Jerron’s heart: the Stockman House and the Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City, Iowa. The Historic Park Inn Hotel, the last remaining hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, has captivated Jerron during his visits. The hotel’s meticulous design, rich history, and unique charm offer endless photographic opportunities, making it one of Jerron’s favorite Wright structures.
